On March 13th, OSWCA made its official written submission (attached) to the Tony Dean Review of the Ontario College of Trades. Follow-up consultations will take place over the next several months as Mr. Dean reviews all of the recommendations made via submission.

The review process was launched in January, following a Liberal Party campaign promise during the Spring 2014 election. The objective of the review is to explore ongoing issues with the College's Scope of Practice regulation (O.Reg 275/11), its process and criteria for the reclassification of a trade as compulsory or voluntary, and its public interest mandate.

The scope of the review is limited to these specific areas of the College's mandate and will not get into issues around its governance structure.
