There is a growing concern over the declining number of capital works projects being tendered in municipalities across the province over the last three months. Consistent tendering of public works throughout the construction season is critical to maintaining sustainable employment for employees across the industry. The delays in the tendering of planned projects is creating a significant disruption in the market, with many of our member companies believing they may have to start seasonal layoffs much earlier in the year due to the lack of work.

To keep pressure on the federal and provincial governments to establish an infrastructure stimulus program to support municipal capital works programs, we are encouraging OSWCA members to date and sign the attached letters, print them on company letterhead and send to your local MPs and MPPs.
