NEW HEAT STRESS REGULATION UNDER THE OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY ACT

The Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD) has taken a significant step by acknowledging the potential surge in workplace heat-related illnesses. In response, they've proposed a new Heat Stress Regulation under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). This regulation aims to protect workers from the perils of excessive heat exposure. However, the Ontario Sewer and Watermain Contractors Association (OSWCA) has voiced its perspective on this matter, sparking an important dialogue regarding the intersection of worker safety and regulatory measures.
