On April 8th, 2013, the conditions of the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009 (the Act) dealing with compulsory and certified trades people took effect. Included in these rules are provisions allowing for the appointment of Inspectors by the Registrar of the Ontario College of Trades (OCOT). The Registrar may also appoint Investigators to visit construction sites under certain circumstances, but these visits would not be typical and would require special approval from the OCOT Executive Committee.
