Canada's only Sewer and Watermain AssociationThe OSWCA has been representing sewer and watermain construction contractors across the province for more than 35 years, and currently serves over 700 member companies. Our role extends far beyond lobbying for increased funding. Our concerns include water system management, the environment, safety, contract terms, engineering, and many other issues relevant to the sewer and watermain construction industry. The OSWCA membership is structured by ten Local Associations, two Pipe Producers and one Independent Association: Members of the Ontario Sewer & Watermain Construction Association
The current stock of water and wastewater assets in Ontario is estimated at $72 billion, $20 billion in treatment plants and the rest in distribution and collection systems*. The OSWCA is committed to the maintenance and expansion of this core infrastructure to ensure a plentiful supply of clean water and the preservation of our lakes and rivers. Ontario's health and environment are dependent upon the effective management of our water and wastewater services and continued investment in our clean water infrastructure. * According with "Watertight: The case for change in Ontario's water and wastewater sector - Report of the Water Strategy Expert Panel, 2005 Ontario Ministry of Public Infrastructure Renewal" |
